The Newfoundland and Labrador Chess Association (NLCA) invites group members and interested players to our Annual General Meeting. As we look to grow the game —from local club play to major tournaments—your input is vital for shaping the year ahead.

NLCA AGM Agenda

  1. Call to Order & Welcome (Brief intro and approval of the agenda)

  2. Reports from the Board (A quick recap of the last year’s tournaments and financial status)

  3. Elections (Calling for nominations and confirming the board for the 2026-2027 season: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Directors)

  4. New Business & Open Forum (Member feedback, ideas for new venues and event types, and upcoming tournament discussion)

    To ensure a smooth transition, we are accepting nominations (including self-nominations) via email until May 20. Floor nominations will also be accepted during the meeting. In addition to formally elected positions, it is possible to get involved informally to run OTB or online tournaments (occasionally or regularly), assist with content creation, event promotion, venue research, and community inclusion, for example.
